Abundant marine life is among Baja’s greatest treasures. No other place in the Nothern Hemishphere can boast of the diversity and sheer numbers of marine mammals. Baja has the three primary¬† breeding grounds of the gray whale. In San Ignacio Lagoon these magnificent and curious creatures often approach our vessel and skiffs giving our guests an experience available nowhere else in the world. Especially exciting to see are the 90-ton blue whales in the Sea of Cortez along with Humpback, Bryde’s and Fin whales.

Add to this the ever popular dolphins, trading places as they ride the bow of the SPIRIT of ADVENTURE. We commonly encounter herds of hundreds-even thousands-of dolphins. Frequent shore stops bring participants close¬† to the elephant seals, harbors seals, and sea lions, as well as wild flowers and other vegetation unique to Baja’s islands. A wide variety of sea, shore and land birds, some of which are seen only in Baja, can keep a avid birder quite busy.

In 15 years of service we have catered to guests from many countries around the world and from all walks of life. The SPIRIT of ADVENTURE can be chartered for custom cruises accomodating up to 28 passengers. Past programs have included special itineraries for:
