Jackpot winner was Gerry Schmidt of Oceanside with a 66,4 pound blue fin tuna, Chris Pellicano of Redondo Beach won second place with a 61,8 pounder and Brian Greene of Long Beach came in third with a 53 pound blue fin tuna.

The bite is on! Book a trip now.
Picture from our recent trip

The SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE is on a 5-day trip with 22 anglers. They caught 200 Blue Fin Tuna & 200 Yellow Tail on August 10th, most of them in the 15-25  lbs. range with some 35 to 60 pounders.

Now is the time to fish! The fish are biting the best they have all season!

If you want to join in the fun, there are some spots left on our 4-day August 19-23, 2011 departure. The cost is $1,050.00 for the trip including all meals, plus $80.00 for the Mexican Excursion permit. Bring a picture ID (passport not mandatory, but we recommend you bring it if you have one).

Mexican officials have been boarding a couple of sport fishing vessels near Cedros last week, asking for passports.  The Sport Fishing Association is working with the Mexican Authorities to resolve this issue. It is now recommended that passengers bring a passport on all trips, not just for Guadalupe Island.

“The SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE returned from the first fishing trip of the season. The group of 18 passengers caught over 200 Bluefin Tuna, most of them  around 30 pounds and a few 50 pounders. Jerry Weimers of San Diego won first place with a 53 pound bluefin. A few Albacore were caught as well. It was a great trip to kick off the season!”

IMPORTANT NEWS: GUADALUPE ISLAND UPDATE

Written by SpiritAdventure
Monday, 23 May 2011

It is now official that we have to clear customs to go to Guadalupe Island. That means everybody needs a passport. We will have to go into Ensenada on the way to Guadalupe and again on the way back. We will also have to clear U.S. customs before getting back to the dock. Passengers can board the boat in San Diego and will stay on board the vessel the entire time. (No need to meet the boat in Ensenada).

Because of these regulations, 4-day trips to Guadalupe Island are no longer feasible. Customs clearances will shave off at least half a day of fishing.
We are currently changing this summer’s schedule and plan a couple of exclusive Guadalupe trips with early morning departure to make up for lost time…
We will post the new dates as soon as the details are worked out.
